The agent may be sprayed or printed on to a surface zone of the products and may comprise water, aqueous solutions of salts (e.g. common salt) or of soaps, waxes, paraffins, oils, fats, aqueous solutions of starch, sugar water, water glass, solvent containing adhesives, an aqueous suspension of silica or a latex adhesive. The agent may be applied in a series of discrete areas or dots. The invention is particularly concerned with the stacking of newspapers but stacking of plates of glass, plastics, cardboard and fibre board is also mentioned. |
