A flexible foil record disc 4 rotates on an air cushion over a stationary plate 2 which is arched, its apex coinciding with a diameter of the disc 4,- with a recording and/or playback transducer 9 mounted in the apex of the arch. The spacing between the disc 4 and the plate 2 may be regulated by the controlled admission of air through the gap between the plate 2 and a rotary member 3 which grips and drives the disc 4. |
