[Also in Division B5] In a method of deep drawing an heated plastics lining 14 into the interior of a rectangular box 11 supported in a die 15, the opposite sides of the box 11 extending above the die 15 are supported by a plate 18. As described, the opposite longer sides (13) (Fig. 1, not shown) of a rectangular cardboard box 11 having overlapping shorter sides (12) are supported by the plate 18 which is housed in a channel (17) in the die 15. The bottom of the box 11 is supported by a plate 19, which after deep drawing the lining 14, is reciprocated to eject the lined box. All four sides of the box 11 may be supported by a plate 18, which may consist of two or more parallel plates. A number of dies 15 are preferably joined together. |
