An electrical circuit conductor is fabricated by forming a channel 12 in one surface of a conductive sheet 10, forming grooves 14 on opposite sides of the bottom of the channel 12, filling the channel with insulating material 17, forming a channel 19 in the other surface of the metal sheet 10, opposing the channel 12, deep enough to extend to the bottom of the grooves 14, and filling the channel 19 with insulating material 21; thus forming an electrically insulated circuit conductor 15<SP>1</SP>. Conducting sheets 23, 25, are then formed over the surfaces of the metal sheet and dielectric portions to complete the conductive encirclement of each conductor. Alternatively, a first channel may be formed, and filled with insulating material, and then the second channel formed, and grooves formed in the second channel extending to the first channel, the second channel then being filled with insulating material. Terminals may be formed by leaving a portion of the conductors the same thickness as the original sheet, so that they protrude through the insulating material. The conductive sheets 23, 25 may be in the form of electrical circuitry, and connections can then be made to the said terminals. The channels and grooves may be formed by etching techniques, and the conducting sheets may be formed by electroplating. |
