Cooler for plastic sheet manufactured from blown tube. Between the guides which tape inwards to convert the tube into a doubled film and the take-up spools are two flat parallel cooling surfaces which are at a distance apart just greater, e.g. by 1 mm., than the doubled thickness of the film. These coolers are either zig-zagged cooling pipes, closed spaced parallel rollers or flat plates with surfaces grooves. The straight sections of pipe, the rollers or the grooves are at right angles to the run of the material. The external surfaces of the coolers may themselves be cooled e.g. by water spraying. |
