The control unit for an A.C. motor consists of two semiconductor rectifier sets that receive trigger pulses from a trigger circuit via a phase detector for the motor voltage. Two gating circuits associated with the rectifier sets are provided to gate the trigger pulses for the rectifiers with corresponding or appropriate triggering. A polarity detector with a bistable switch is also provided to drive or control the gates, one with negative control signals and the other (gate) with positive control signals. The polarity detector comprises a logic circuit associated with the bistable switch in such a way that the logic circuit retains and provides the input signal and a time equated control pulse with the control pulses for the gating circuits. |
