Cellulose pulp is treated by (a) treating a pH 2-7 (the acid stage) for at least 10 sec. so that the fibres reach pH 2-7; (b) washing or pressing the pulp; and (c) bleaching the pulp in a multistage sequence at 80-120 deg C in each stage, including at least one peroxide bleaching stage after step (b). |
