A nesting and stacking tray is rectangular in horizontal cross-section, and has continuous walls 14 along the opposite shorter sides; these walls are provided with co-operating stacking elements so that like trays may be stacked; the opposite longer sides are provided with spaced posts 16, and there is a series of spaced apertures 13 adjacent to the shorter sides in the bottom of the tray, whereby a like tray, orientated in a horizontal plane at 90 degrees to said tray, will rest therein, with the posts 16 extending through the apertures 13. The stacking elements in the walls 14 may consist of a groove underneath, and a flange above. The bottom may contain rows of square openings 10, alternate openings 12 having rabbets on the upper surface, and the remaining openings 11 having rabbets on the lower surface to provide a grid of reinforcing ribs in the bottom. |
