发明名称 APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING ASSEMBLAGES OF ROD-LIKE ARTICLES ESPECIALLY CIGARETTES
摘要 1,235,876. Arranging cigarettes in groups for packaging endless conveyers. HAUNI-WERKE KORBER & CO. K.G. 12 June, 1968 [30 June, 1967], No. 27961/68. Headings B8A and B8C. Successive groups of rod-like articles are abstracted by one or more continuously operating divider conveyers from a succession of articles continuously fed by a supply conveyer and are then positioned in holders to form assemblages ready for packaging, the supply and divider conveyers being adapted to hold the articles thereon in predetermined positions fixed relatively to each other. As shown, a continuous series of cigarettes, fed from a cigarette making machine (not shown) by means, Fig. 5 (not shown), are held in pockets 7 formed on the periphery of a rotating drum 1, suction means (not shown) being connected to the pockets. Three groups of seven, six and seven cigarettes respectively are withdrawn from the pockets 7 by drums 2, 3, 4 respectively and placed successively in pockets formed on the periphery of a rotating drum 6, each pocket then containing a block of twenty cigarettes ready for packaging. Groups of pockets formed on the peripheries of drums 2, 3 and 4 are connected to suction means stronger than that connected to pockets 7 of drum 1. The first group of seven cigarettes is placed in the pockets, e.g. pocket 18, on drum 6 by drum 4, which carries cams 31, 32 for urging spring- loaded formations 28 and 30 apart as the group is delivered to the pocket. Means, Fig. 4 (not shown), are provided for pushing the completed blocks of cigarettes from the pockets, the means comprising a fixed swashplate (52) which operates plungers (48) for ejecting the blocks axially of drum 6 into pockets (143) carried on a chain (142). In a modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), the drum 6 is rotated intermittently, completed cigarette blocks being ejected from the pocket during the stoppage periods and the loading of the pockets taking place between such periods. In further modifications, Fig. 6, 9 and 10 (not shown), the drums 1 and 6 are replaced by endless belts or chains. The belt corresponding to drum 1 is formed along its length with a series of pockets, to which suction may be applied by three suction means spaced along the belt, the suction means being of different strengths to compensate for the changing number of empty pockets as the cigarettes are moved successively past drums correspondng to drums 2, 3 and 4. The chain carrying the pockets for the cigarette blocks may be moved continuously or intermittently. The pockets for the cigarette blocks may be similar to those shown in Fig. 1 or may each comprise a container, partitioned into three . columns which are arranged side-by-side and perpendicularly to the belt or chain.
