An electric storage battery, in particular a lead-acid battery, with intercell connectors extending through holes in the partition walls has a pair of external terminals connected to plates in the end compartments respectively and a further connector extending through one of the side walls of the battery box which extends from one of the intercell connectors and provides a third terminal on the exterior of the box. In the embodiment shown, the connector 35 is L-shaped and one limb 36 extends parallel to the partition wall 12 and has a projection 37 which is resistance welded to intercell connector 39. The other limb 38 extends along the side wall of the battery box and has a pair of projections which extend into holes in the side wall and are resistance welded to connector 42, thus forming the third terminal. Alternatively the projections on limb 38 may instead be formed integrally with connector 42, or projections may be provided on both. components 42 and 38.. In a modification connector 35 is. formed integrally with the appropriate. intercell connector.. |
