Spongy proteins filter material

The protein material is mixed with frozen material esp. solid CO2 or ice and water mixture depending on the nature of the product required. The frozen component is removed by vacuum sublimation. The sublimation takes place in a vacuum chamber which surrounds the porous extrusion tube for the material. The spongy protein material is extruded to required diameter and cut to required lengths. The protein used is partic. collagen which can be made from cattle hides. The filter material is partic used for cigarette filters.
