[Also in Division F2] A casing for a motor vehicle change speed gear and differential unit comprises a change speed gear casing 1 connected to an axially split differential casing 2 in a plane perpendicular to longitudinal axis of the unit. The differential casing 2 is split in a plane containing the axes of the change speed gear output shaft 6 and the differential driving shaft 9. The differential maybe arranged between a torque converter 4 and the change speed gear and the differential casing may enclose the torque converter (Fig. 4, not shown). |
