In devices for lifting a loading container 9 onto a lorry 1 and removing it from the lorry with the aid of a flexible pulling member 6, which is wound onto and unwound from a winch drum, shaft or reel 5 by a drive unit on the lorry, it is proposed for the pulling member 6 to be, instead of a cable or chain, an endless flat belt which is automatically wound up and unwound helically, in order, in the unwound position with the smallest radius on the reel 5, to provide the highest force, which is necessary exactly then. Especially if two such belts are used next to one another, it is proposed to provide these belts with a high elasticity, of 0.5% or more per 10,000 N load, in order to even the load between the belts even without special means such as a differential. <IMAGE>
