Aerator for waste water ponds - with scoops having an open figure nine shaped cross section rotating at the surface

An aerator for waste water ponds has a disc with scoops rotating at the surface to disturb the surface and bring air into the water. The scoops are shaped in cross section like an open figure 9 which moves to the left through the water. Besides drawing air under the surface the scoops induce circulation in the water, bringing stagnant water from the bottom to the surface. Thus the driving force for soln. of oxygen is large and the best use is made of the energy expanded. No oscillation of the surface is caused.
