<p>The arrangement for protecting the sea coast against erosion caused by waves uses nets placed close to the coast. The energy in the breaking waves is reduced and the velocity differences are reduced so that the breaking of waves is prevented which in turn prevents impact on the seashore. The nets are attached to posts driven into the sea botton near shore. The nets (11, 12) are arranged in the plane of water flow (5, 6) preferably at the locations of maximum flow speeds and held in a horizontal position. The nets can be arranged close to the water surface or also directly on the sea bottom and may be increasing or constant width in the flow direction.</p> |
