Adjustable volume supermarket trolley - with height adjustable floor insert and reset control for stacking

The floor of the basket of the supermarket trolley is formed by a tray insert (13) which is linked to the rest of the basket by vertical guides (11) and springs (17). The relative depth of the tray insert is adjusted by a ratchet (16) on each side of the basket. This enables the operator or user to adjust the basket to take either a large load, or a small load with improved access. The front of the basket is fitted with a control bar (23) linked on each side to a control lever (23) which opens the ratchet when pressure on the front bar is exerted. This releases the ratchet and allows the tray to spring upwards under spring (17) pressure. As the baskets are stacked they are automatically reset to the shallow position.
