Paper sheet feed with sideways alignment - transfers sheet from travelling gripper bar onto reciprocating suction table

A sheet handling machine for paper and cardboard with gripper bars (57) pulled between two parallel chains (59), has a reciprocating table (11) which receives the oncoming sheet, with a row of suction holes (52) along its receiving edge, to contact a stop member controlled by a set of microswitches (54) in line with it. A set of strips (55) across the paper are supported on a crank operated spindle (56) above. The table (11) is operated by a crank arm (25) and drive cam (22) and incorporates a photo electric sensing arrangement and electronic control circuit to operate devices to control the sideways alignment of the paper.
