PURPOSE:To improve passing through action of the gas by preventing the gas accumulation on the electrode plate surface and provide a long performance of a battery by eliminating projections of resin formed on the thermally deposit part of electrode plate to finish a uniform plate surface with a mold in a following process. CONSTITUTION:To join an active material holding body 5 and synthetic resin 2 in one body, they are put between a pair of molds 7 having a serrated edge 6 heated at about 200-400 deg.C. The serrated edge 6 thrusts through the active material holding body 5 and melts the synthetic resin 2. The melted resin 2' flows out on the surface of the active material holding body 5 along the outer surface of the serrated edge 6, and solidifies as projections 8 of the melted resin as it gets cold before it is spreading out on the surface of the active material holding body 5. An electrode plate is put between molds 9 heated at a specified temperature and molded to melt projections to form a uniform plate surface. Since the parts of the molds 9 attaching to the plate are limited to thermally deposite parts having projections 8, projections 8 can be eliminated and the uniform plate surface can be obtained. |
