PURPOSE:To effectively use raw petroleum coke, which has a narrow range of application, by a method wherein raw petroleum coke is ground, and the water content thereof is regulated, to form a pulverized petroleum coke, which is sent into a furnace by means of air and then continuously burnt at a specific temperature. CONSTITUTION:A raw petroleum coke consisting of 9-15% a volatile component, not larger than 1% ash component, 85-95% carbon and 0.5-5% sulfur is ground into a pulverized raw petroleum coke so that not smaller than 85% thereof can pass a 100-mesh sieve and the coke has a water content of not larger than 3%, and is then sent into a furnace by means of air. The temperature in the furnace is required to be above 700 deg.C for obtaining a continuous stable combustion. By such a processing, it is made possible to effectively employ raw petroleum coke as a low-sulfur low-ash content fuel. |
