PURPOSE:To render the injection timing of fuel variable as well as to make the timing setting controllable in an electrical manner in accordance with the driving condition of an engine inclusive of the properties of working fuel on the midway of engine driving. CONSTITUTION:At a barrel 3, a subport 23 is disposed in a radial direction and one end of the subport 23 is open to the inner surface of the barrel while the other end is open to an annular chamber 7 via a check valve 24. At a casing 4, a valve gear 25 is disposed at a position opposite to the check valve 24 in a radial direction, and hydraulic pressure for valve adjustment is held in a chamber 26 of this valve gear 25 in a state that a pushing rod 28 of a piston 27 pushes a valve 31 of the check valve 24 against the resilient force of a spring 29 and a spring 30 of the check valve 24 due to action of the hydraulic pressure, and the subport 23 is interconnected to the annular chamber 7. By switching the hydraulic pressure acting on the piston 27, the valve opening of the check valve 24 in any unit is selected whereby the compression start timing can be delayed as much as by a crank angle commensurate to the plunger head. |
