PURPOSE:To obtain easily the titled compound which is a raw material for nylon, etc., by oxidizing 1,9-nonanedial, obtained in high yield from easily butadiene which is easily available in large amounts at a low cost in simple steps, with oxygen in the presence of an oxidation catalyst. CONSTITUTION:1,9-Nonanedial as a raw material is brought into contact with oxygen gas or a gas containing the oxygen in the presence of at least one metallic salt selected from copper salts, iron salts, nickel salts, cobalt salts and manganese salts in acetic acid, propionic acid or butyric acid, etc. as a reaction solvent to give the titled compound. The reaction temperature is room temperature -120 deg.C, preferably 30-90 deg.C. The metallic salt of the catalyst is usually used in 0.01-10mg atoms concentration expressed in terms of metal based on one l reaction mixture solution. |
