<p>PURPOSE:To minimize variation of plate width at the tip of a slab and to improve dimensional accuracy of width of products by replenishing pressure liquid by the quantity to which the liquid in the screw down cylinder is compressed at the time of slab biting. CONSTITUTION:A tip position signal of a slab S detected by a tip position detector 4 and a speed signal of the slab S detected by a speed detector 5 are sent to a logical circuit 11, and number of seconds after which the tip of the slab S arrives at outer periphery of the vertical roll 1 is calculated. Time obtained by the logical circuit 11 is sent to an AND circuit 12. On the other hand, when the slab S is sent to the vertical roll 1 and bitten in, a signal detected by an accelerometer 6 is sent to the AND circuit 12. When the signal is inputted to the AND circuit 12 from the logical circuit 11 and accelerometer 6, a command signal is outputted to a servo valve 8, and pressure liquid is replenished to the screw down cylinder 3 from conduits 9, 10. When pressure liquid is replenished to the screw down cylinder 3, a gap is fastened for a specified time, and accuracy of tip width of the slab S is improved.</p> |
