<p>PURPOSE:To obtain very easily an optical semiconductor device which has a spherical lens window positioned with high accuracy and is sealed airtightly, by forming a fixing hole whose diameter is smaller than the spherical lens diameter, and a sealing hole whose diameter is larger than said lens so as to communicate to the device vessel wall. CONSTITUTION:A spherical lens 1 can be positioned with high accuracy on the center axis of a fixing hole 22 by only fitting the spherical lens to the fixing hole 22. Also, by setting in advance a diameter of the fixing hole to a prescribed diameter, a quantity by which the spherical lens 1 goes into the fixing hole 22 can be controlled, and accordingly, an interval between the spherical lens and an LD can be controlled with high accuracy. Also, when the spherical lens 1 is fitted into the fixing hole 22, the fixing hole 22 is closed, and as a result, a sealing material packed in a sealing hole 21 goes round to the end face opposed to the LD of the spherical lens 1, and it is not feared that the lens effect is obstructed. In this regard, a holding plate 9 holds down the spherical lens 1 into the fixing hole 22, and also plays a part for preventing a sealing material 3 from going round to the outside end face of the spherical lens 1.</p> |
