PURPOSE:To make it possible to store, into bins laid in a predetermined number of stories within a sorter body, papers to be collated much more than the predetermined number with papers being shifted with respect to the bins, by providing a course changing mechanism for turning the course of the papers to the predetermined number of the stories, in the paper inlet port in the sorter body. CONSTITUTION:There is provided an automatic original copy feed device 3 on a copying machine 2 by which papers are made copy, and the papers are then successively discharged into a sorter body 1 through a paper discharge port 2a. Meanwhile bins 5 laid in a predetermined number of stories are arranged in the sorter body, being vertically spaced, and as well a collating mechanism 6 for papers 4 is positioned on the paper introducing side of the bins 5. With the above-mentioned arrangement, a course changing mechanism 7 for changing the course of the papers 4 into two ways is provided in the vicinity of the paper introduction port 1a of the sorter body 1. This course changing mechanism 7 is composed of a transfer roll 7a for clamping the papers 4 in a transfer path 8 and a resilient plate 7b. Further, the transfer roll 7a may be changed into two ways in one flat plane by means of a drive means 12. |
