PURPOSE:To enhance corrosion-proof effect by preventing the delamination of a film at the time of pile-driving, by applying a silane coupling agent to the surface of a steel sheet pile to which chromate type chemical forming treatment is applied and applying a thermoplastic resin imparting a film with elongation of 50% to the coated steel sheet pile. CONSTITUTION:After sand blast means is applied to steel sheet piles 1, 2, 3 to clean the surfaces thereof, an aqueous chromic acid solution is applied to the cleaned sheet piles by spray or immersion treatment to form a chromate type chemical forming coating layer. Subsequently, an aqueous solution containing a silane coupling agent is applied to the aforementioned chromate type coating layer and, after drying at 80-200 deg.C, a coating material comprising a thermoplastic resin or a thermosetting resin imparting a coating layer with elongation of 50% after coating is applied to the entire surface of each steel sheet pile including joint parts 4a, 5a. As this coating material, there are an ABS resin, a polyethylene terephthalate resin, an AS resin, a urea resin or a melamine resin.
