A panel for a visual display device is an optical and electrical transmission panel which consists essentially of a plate 5 which is transparent from one face to an opposite face, containing electrically conducting elements 8 distributed in the said plate and each extending from one to the other of the said faces, without electrical contact between them. The plate is formed of optical fibres each oriented from one to the other face and between which the said electrically conducting elements are distributed. It further comprises a network 10 of electrical conductors on one of the faces of the said plate, the density of the electrically conducting elements 8 in the latter being such that there exists at least one such element in electrical contact with the said conductor for each network pitch 10. <IMAGE>
