The invention relates to an apparatus allowing hollow needles to be removed and disposed of without risk of injury. It consists of a base 1 with a stationary jaw 2 and a moving jaw 3, having an orifice 4 through which the needle 5 is introduced. The protective deflectors 7 act as a lever; they are hinged by a pin 9 fixed to the base 1, which is eased at the axis of the apparatus 10, and fixed by screwing or clip fastening using a centring device 11 onto the collection receptacle 12. When the operator presses on the lever 7, the needle is gripped between the jaws, which makes it possible to free the syringe 15. When the jaws are opened, the needle 5 falls into the receptacle 12. A lock 13 ensures that the apparatus is closed before and after use. The apparatus according to the invention is particularly intended for prevention of diseases with high risks of infection. <IMAGE>
