In a device for spraying liquids by means of propellent gas, an annular nozzle which opens out upstream of an atomiser nozzle in the spray direction is arranged concentrically to said atomiser nozzle for generating a gas envelope surrounding the spray jet and the atomiser nozzle is axially adjustable with respect to its axial clearance from the annular nozzle. The annular nozzle for generating the gas envelope surrounding the spray jet may also have assigned to it a guide mesh, so that the medium-flow forming the gas envelope may have a twisting flow superimposed on it.
