PURPOSE:To improve an integration degree and productivity of an optical integrated circuit and to miniaturize, lighten and thin an optical pickup. CONSTITUTION:After an elliptic laser beam outputted from a semiconductor laser 26 is made parallel rays of light by a collimate lens 28, they are incident on the translucent reflection type grating 22 of the optical integrated circuit 24, and are shaped to a nearly circle to be reflected in the direction of nearly 90 deg.. The laser beams after shaping, reflection are converged on a disk 32 by an action of an objective lens 30. The laser beams whose polarizing surface is rotated and reflected by a Kerr effect by the magnetic recording part 32A of the disk 32 are incident on convergence grating couplers 18A, 18B after transmitting through the objective lens 30 and the translucent reflection type grating 22, and are led into a waveguide layer 16 by the couplers 18A, 18B to be photoelectric converted by photodetectors 12A, 12B. |
