The invention relates to a method of fitting a battery and a battery casing 4. The casing 4 consists of a case 6 and a bottom plate 5. The case 6 is made in a single piece by moulding and comprises a cover 7 furnished with terminal runs 28, 29 and connection runs 31, side walls 8, 9, 10, 11 and partitions 12 constituting chambers 3 having a bottom opening 36 on the side of the case 6 intended to be closed by the bottom plate 5 of the casing 4. In order to fit the battery, the case 6 is positioned so that the bottom openings 36 in the chambers 3 are pointing upwards, a battery element is placed into each chamber 3 via the said opening 36 and the casing 4 is sealed by welding the bottom plate 5 so as to close off the said bottom openings 36. <IMAGE> |
