PURPOSE:To obtain an order entry function having an efficient character recognition function by sending a character recognition result or character correction result to a transmission destination as a code. CONSTITUTION:Image data from a scanner section 9 are transferred to a character recognition algorithm processing circuit 7 in the character recognition operation and the circuit 7 eliminates data at the outside of the recognition object area to recognize characters in the object area. The result of recognition is stored in a RAM 3 as code information and displayed by a display section 11. Moreover, a communication interface circuit 8 sends data being the result of recognition in the RAM 3 in compliance with a communication protocol in the correction operation. When the received confirmation is replied, it is fed to a printer section 10 via the circuit 8. |
