<p>PURPOSE:To eficiently record/reproduce information by discriminating a mode signal indicating the transmission rate of a transmitted information signal and automatically discriminating a transmitted information signal transmited through a different route at a different transmission rate. CONSTITUTION:By means of a request signal 174 inputted to an interface circuit 11 from the system controller 83 of a receiving system via a transmission route 30, a digital information signal is read from a digital information signal source 1, encoded by a transmission system encoder 10 in a specified format, time- axially compressed to 1/n by a time axis compressing unit 20, a rate for a transmission rate is increased by n times, and the signal is modulated by a modulator 25 and sent to the transmission route 30. In a receiving system 200, a received signal is demodulated by a demodulator 35 and supplied to the recording system encoder 40 of a direct recording device 300. In the recording system encoder 40, the supplied signal is recorded and encoded in a format suitable for recording/reproducing.</p> |
