PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity and raw preservability of a thermal recording material by providing a thermal color forming layer containing an electron donating leuco dye and an electron acceptive compd. such as a specific salicylic acid derivative or a metal salt thereof on a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material is obtained by laminating a thermal color forming layer containing an electron donating leuco dye, a compd. selected from a salicylic acid derivative represented by the general formula (wherein R<1> is an alkyl group or an aryl group, R<2> is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group or an alkoxy group, M is an n-valent metal atom and n is an integer) and a metal salt thereof and one or more kind of a compd. selected from a group consisting of a thiourea compd., a bisthiourea compd, a water-insoluble epoxy group-containing compd., an aziridine compd. and an aromatic isocyanate compd. on a support. In order to obtain good color forming sensitivity, it is pref. to finely grind the salicylic acid derivative and/or a metal salt thereof by a sand mill or the like to set the disperse particle size thereof to 3mum or less. |
