PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of a machine due to the run-out of a developer by providing a remaining amt. detecting means which detects the remaining amt. of the developer in a developer housing section and judging the feasibility or not of job execution by comparing a predicted developer consumption and the remaining amt. of the developer. CONSTITUTION:The remaining amt. detecting means 51 which detects the remaining amt. of the developer T in the developer housing section 5 and a calculating section 7 which calculates the predicted developer consumption in one copy job set by a user are provided. A control section 6 which substrates the predicted developer consumption calculated in the calculating section 7 from the remaining amt. of the developer and stops the execution of the copy job when the result of the subtraction is below the prescribed threshold is provided. The image forming device is efficiently operated in this way without damaging the machine. |
