PURPOSE:To obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for a liquid crystal element capable of bonding a substrate to a polarizing plate, etc., with necessary and sufficient adhesive force, and also capable of releasing such polarizing plate, etc., from the substrate without damaging the liquid crystal cell and without leaving the adhesive on the substrate even in case the polarizing plate, etc., having been bonded to the substrate get out of order during the production process for a liquid crystal element. CONSTITUTION:This adhesive composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of an acrylic polymer and 0.001-4 pts.wt. of a polymer-type silane coupling agent having affinity for the acrylic polymer and bearing respective functional groups for inorganic and organic materials with the main chain consisting of siloxane skeleton. The other objective liquid crystal element is obtained by applying a polarizing plate, etc., on the substrate through this adhesive composition. |
