The dashboard unit includes two display devices (1,2) having a display controller and an operating element (14). The operating element enables actuation from a rest position into an operating position of the controller against the restoring force of a mechanism (6) which returns it to its rest position. A single operating element common to both display devices is pressed to operate the controller. On pressing the operating element, one display device is operated. Rotating the controller operates another display device.
