PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scene change detector which reduces the quantity of a necessary hardware and lowering a cost. SOLUTION: The correlated maximum value of a correlated faces generated by a motion vector deciding circuit 2 is totaled over a present image, and this is compared with a threshold value to detect a scene change. Otherwise, a value generated by statistically analyzing signals (Vx , Vy and Y) expressing the present picture is differentiated. A peak at this differentiated value expresses the scene change. Otherwise, the scene change is shown also by using the rapid change of the number of effective vectors, obtained by analyzing the motion of the present image. |
