PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide weather information for respective narrow areas and to report the weather information in case of emergency so that even a person handicapped in hearing can recognize it by using a pager system connected to a communication network and provided with a weather information transmitting means for transmitting the weather information through a base station connected to the communication network by radio and a pager for receiving and displaying the weather information. SOLUTION: Concerning this pager system, a weather information transmitter 23 is connected through a communication network 22 such as a general telephone network to a central station and a pager 24 equipped with an emergency LED to be blinked when the weather information in case of emergency is reported in addition to the character display is used. The weather information transmitter 23 is installed on the side of weather information provider and the weather information is transmitted through the communication network 22 to the central station 20 and transmitted from the central station 20 through a base station 2 to the pager 24 later. Thus, ordinary or emergency weather information is reported to the user carrying the pager 24 with him. |
