PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a constitutional restriction when a light distribution characteristic is formed, and to illuminate a road surface just ahead of the vehicle even in the case of a large-size car having a high mounting position of lamps. SOLUTION: A reflecting mirror 3 is composed of a main reflecting surface 3a generating approximately horizontal reflected light and a sub-reflecting surface 3b provided in at least a part of proximity to the top of the main reflecting surface 3a, and a vertical section of the sub-reflecting surface 3b along axis Z of the main reflecting surface 3a forms a concave surface or a convex surface, then the head lamp 1 is so constituted that the sub-reflecting surface 3d diffuses the reflected light in the range of approximately 1 m in front of the vehicle from a maximum downward angle the main reflecting surface 3a can radiate. The sub-reflecting surface 3b is set in the position where a maximum downward angle can be obtained for projecting the light out through a lens, thus a road surface just ahead of a driver's seat can be illuminated, and an obstacle are easily recognized in the range, even in the case of a large-size car. |
