PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide a retrieval of data by a user by indicating related information on a retrieval condition. SOLUTION: An information retrieval supporting device is constituted of a retrieval condition input means 1 by which a user inputs a retrieval condition containing a keyword, and a data base 2 where a document being a retrieval object is stored. An information retrieval device for retrieving data base based on the retrieval condition is provided with a related information dictionary 3 for storing information related to the keyword, a related information developing means 2 for retrieving the related information dictionary 3, extracting and displaying related information corresponding to the inputted keyword, and a related information display means 4. Prior to retrieval of the data base based on the retrieval condition, the related information dictionary 3 is retrieved by the keyword or the data base 6 is retrieved, related information is extracted and related information is displayed. |
