PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a sintered copper alloy member is provided which can stably fixate graphite so that the strength of a basic material is not influenced, and the breakage and detachment of a lubricating agent of graphite are minimized. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing a sintered copper alloy member comprises a process (S1) of forming a green compact at a pressure of 3 to 6 kgf/cm2 by mixing a composition comprising 70 to 80 wt.% of copper alloy base metallic powder; 10 to 13 wt.% of powder for tool steel comprising a low alloy part consisting of fine Fe and a small amount of alloy elements and a high alloy part in which one or more metal constituents having high fusion points such as chromium, vanadium and tungsten are mixed; and 10 to 12 wt.% of graphite for 1 to 2 hours, and a process (S2) of sintering the green compact under reducing atmosphere of 900 to 960 deg.C; wherein the powder for tool steel comprises 0.9 wt.% of C, 4.2 wt.% of Cr, 5.0 wt.% of Mo, 2.0 wt.% of V, 6.0 wt.% of W and a balance of Fe, and the copper alloy base metallic powder comprises one or more elements selected from Sn, Ni, Fe and SiO2.
