PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable picture data, which are preservingly video-recorded, to be retrieved quickly and efficiently. SOLUTION: The genre such as 'documentary', 'drama' and 'movie' of a program, whose video recording is to be reserved, is registered as an item in a directory and the name of a program which is to be reservingly video- recording is to be registered in the corresponding item of the directory. For example, when a program D1 and a program D2 are 'drama', names of these programes D1, D2 are to be registered in items of 'drama'.
