PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make simultaneously communicatable data with plural memory seals in a short time by providing plural interfaces for transmitting/receiving data with no contact with the memory seals of respective cassette tapes. SOLUTION: Interfaces 12, communication control circuits and microcomputers are provided as many as rack cells 14 but respective microcomputers can be linked and operated as well. While using all the interfaces 12, data on memory seals 4 of all cassette tapes 2 for video/audio recording and reproducing in a rack 8 can be read as well and data can be written on the memory seals 4 of all the cassette tapes 2 for video/audio recording and reproducing as well. Further, respective microcomputers can be independently operated. Thus, data can be communicated only with a partial memory seal 4. Besides, data read operation from a certain memory seal 4 and data write operation to the other memory seal 4 can be parallel executed at the same time.
