Method for characterizing and especially for labeling the surfaces of optical elements by means of UV light

The method involves focusing the light beam of the excimer laser (1) using an optical element (5) and moving the surface to be inscribed and the focus point of the light beam relatively to each other in the direction of the tangential plane in the vertex of the surface. Additionally, the surface is moved in the direction of the normal line of the vertex, so that the focus point lies on the surface. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for carrying out the method.
