PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin-covered steel pipe with an L-shaped rib bent in a curved shape, suitably usable for a rail of a movable carriage for moving a sliding object such as a bucket for housing a part, and a cold bending method of the steel pipe. SOLUTION: This resin-covered steel pipe with the rib has the rib integrally formed with a covering resin adhering and covering an outer peripheral surface of a thin steel pipe. The rib is an L-shaped rib having a planar sliding surface in the horizontal direction of the outer peripheral surface in a cross section of the resin-covered steel pipe, and vertically erecting a falling preventive wall on one end of the sliding surface. The cross section is formed in the axial direction as a uniform cross section. In the resin-covered steel pipe, the sliding surface maintains a planar shape in the horizontal direction. The falling preventive wall maintains verticality, and is bent in curvature suitable for use. The covering resin for forming the sliding surface and the falling preventive wall uses a conductive resin of high density polyethylene.
