PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that can facilitate communication by hearing-handicapped people in a communication environment among a plurality of people. SOLUTION: A hearing-handicapped person carries a hearing aid unit 10 that can collect a sound in an area 14 around the hearing-handicapped person. Other able-bodies people carry transmitter units 12-2-12-k, collect sounds in areas 16-2-16-k and transmit the collected sound to the hearing aid unit 10. The hearing aid unit 10 has a reception section that receives the sound in the areas 16-2-16-k sent from a plurality of the transmitter units so as to allow the hearing-handicapped person to be able to listen to the sound in the areas 16-2-16-k.
