<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance close-contact property of a close-contact surface of a metal work. <P>SOLUTION: A device for surface treatment comprises a laser beam generation unit 10 to output femtosecond laser beam to be applied to a close-contact surface sf1 (sf2) of a metal work W1 (W2), and a stage 50 which is disposed on the optical axis of the laser beam generation unit 10 with the metal work W1 (W2) mounted thereon. The close-contact surface sf1 of the metal work W1 on the stage 50 is irradiated with femtosecond laser beam to form a fine periodic structure, and the close-contact surface sf2 of the metal work W2 is irradiated with femtosecond laser beam to similarly form a fine periodic structure. Close-contact property of the close-contact surfaces sf between the metal work W1 and the metal work W2 is enhanced thereby.
