<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To add kana characters omitted in a romaji notation when giving kana characters, to add long sounds omitted in the romaji notation when reading, and to allow kana characters to be substituted with long sounds, in the case of conversion from a character string romaji notation to a character string in kana notation. <P>SOLUTION: A romaji-kana conversion device is provided with a correspondence table conversion part 2 and a long vowel determination part 5. The conversion part 2 converts an arbitrary romaji notation character string described in romaji to a romaji-kana correspondence character string comprising a set of information including romaji in mora unit and corresponding kana characters, by using a romaji-kana conversion table 1 and transfers the romaji-kana correspondence character string to the long vowel determination part 5. The determination part 5 determined whether each information in mora unit constituting the romaji-kana correspondence character string transferred from the conversion part 2 should be left as it is or a long vowel should be added to the information, by using a normalization table 3 and a long vowel determination model 4 and performs kana character substitution/addition in accordance with a determination result and outputs a kana notation character string described in kana. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
