<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communications system which is capable of notifying communication status. <P>SOLUTION: Processing for a master unit of a radio communications system to select a filter to be executed in accordance with a communication status includes: a step (S502) of detecting a field strength of a signal transmitted from a sub-base unit; a step (S506) of commanding ON of an LED when the base unit and the sub-base unit are communicating with each other (YES in step S504); a step (S512) of setting a filter to ON, when the field strength is lower than or equal to a threshold A (YES in S510); and a step (S518) of setting the filter to OFF, when the field strength is equal to or greater than a threshold B (YES in S516).
