<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color matching system capable of certainly displaying image data subjected to color matching on a display device while saving time and effort of performing color matching on an application. <P>SOLUTION: The color matching system is mounted on, for example, an image display apparatus, and executes color conversion suitable for the color characteristic of the display device. For image data to be generated due to the operation of the application, a graphics interface such as GDI generates an image depicting instruction, and display image data are generated on the basis of the image depicting instruction. The display image data are subjected to color conversion by a color management module, and then, a color space is adjusted according to a color attribute file indicating the color characteristic of the display device, and the display image data are supplied onto the display device. In this way, the display image data suitable for the color reproducibility of the display device are displayed on the display device. Since color conversion processing for color matching is performed not in the application side but in the color management module of a hardware-dependent side such as an OS, proper color matching can be performed without allowing the application side to be conscious of the color matching. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
